Ex-student scores winning try!

JoelConlon

Joel Conlon, former Heathfield Student, helped England U20 side to World Cup victory in New Zealand at the weekend.

The 20 year old, Exeter Chief star was on hand to score England’s winning try against South Africa, in their 21-20 victory. This means the National side hold onto the World Cup, which they won in 2013 and hope to successfully defend it next year.

In an interview, with Stuart Barnes, after the game, Joel was as modest as always about his achievements and as is the Heathfield way praised the team effort.

Year 7 Futsbal

Our Year 7 Futsal travelled to Paignton Community College on Sunday 1st June to play in the South West Finals of the National Schools Futsal tournament.

They arrived unbeaten after winning the area and county competitions earlier in the year. The boys are still unbeaten in the tournament, but narrowly missed out on reaching the finals, after winning 1 match and drawing 3, against schools from Devon, Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

The team of Tom Edwards, George Farmer, Nathan Byrne, Noah Coppin, Callum Watts, Joe Bassett and Will Thompson played superbly and were very entertaining to watch, scoring 10 goals in their 4 matches. Congratulations to all the boys and coaches

Joe Aries and Alex Caird from Year 9.
